Hand over your drawing — take it back in the format you need
DWG, DXF, MapInfo, Shapefile, GeoPackage, GeoJSON. We say in advance what the translation will lose — as a number, before you press “write”.

The one thing we do differently
Any converter stays quiet when it loses something. MapInfo does not store height — and drops it for 3355 features out of 7152 without saying a word. Shapefile cuts field names down to ten characters. KML wraps a foreign coordinate around in a circle, and the point 539 640 comes back as −20.83 — without a single warning.
We count these losses in advance and show them before writing. Not “losses are possible”, but “3355 features out of 7152 will lose their height”. You choose the format knowing the cost.
And after writing we read our own result back and compare it with the source: datasets, fields, types, feature count, coordinates. If we promised to lose 3355 and lost 3400 — that is our bug, and you see it as a line, not find out in six months.
Your file does not stay with us
- The source file is deleted right away, as soon as the job is done — on a refusal too. Not on a schedule, not overnight, but right away.
- The result lives 24 hours, then it is deleted along with everything made from it.
- We do not look inside and pass nothing to anyone.
- Every file is parsed in its own one-time container with no network access, destroyed together with the job.
- Transfer happens only after your explicit consent, and the consent says exactly what is written here.
How the protection is built — together with the list of what is not done yet.
How it works
- You hand over a file. Whole or as an archive — ZIP, TAR, GZ. We determine the format from content, not from the extension.
- We read it and show what we found. Layers, feature types, counts, fields, coordinate system. Before any writing.
- You choose a format — we write and check. Next to every format is written what it will do specifically to your data.
What we do not do yet
- We do not read DGN version 8 — there is no driver for it in any free build, and we say so in the first line, not after half an hour of waiting.
- Some DWG does not yield to the free converter: it sometimes hands back a stub and reports success. We catch such a file and call a refusal a refusal — but we cannot read it today.
- We do not unpack 7z and RAR — we say so on intake.
- We give no API — only a page, for now.
- Layer-meaning parsing runs when you pick a profile. On the upload page, choosing "roads only", "basemap only" or "utilities only" lays the drawing out onto the OSM model and adds a separate
by-class.gpkg file to the result. Accuracy is not re-measured on your file -- the last measurement on labeled drawings: 2752 of 6099 features (measured 2026-09-20, docs/BASELINE-LOG.md).
What it costs
Right now — free and with no sign-up. This is a public beta: we need your files and your complaints, not your money.
What will become paid later: storing your data with us, large volumes, batch processing. What stays free: a single conversion with the file deleted.
Try it on your own file
The most honest way to check is to take that very DWG that nothing works with.
